    Pizza Night

Hubs is feasting on this right now. It's his reward for fixing the plumbing fixtures in the kitchen earlier. I already called for plumbing service the day before yesterday, but it seems that the plumbers are fully booked, so hubs volunteered. He replaced the old, rusty tube under the sink with a new one and also fixed the leaky faucet. He's my kind of DIY guy. Thanks honey!

    Stretch Marks

Do you have stretch marks? These are the result of the rapid stretching of the skin due to rapid growth or weight gain. Yes, our skin is fairly elastic but rapid stretching will leave permanent stretch marks. This is because of the tearing of the dermis, it can diminish over time but won't disappear completely.

Pregnancy and losing/gaining weight fast are the main reasons we have stretch marks. I read that taking 1000 mg of Vitamin C and 400 IUs of Vitamin E every day are necessary to keep our skin healthy. Both vitamins can help repair stretch marks. It will also help to massage the skin with cream or lotion containing Vitamin E, cocoa butter and other minerals. This will help maintain moisture in our skin.

    Whole Life Insurance

Some people are putting off life insurance thinking that they don't really need it and it will only add up to their expenses. If budget is the problem, you don't really have to spend an arm and a leg to be covered. Purchasing a whole life insurance is a lot cheaper than any other life insurance. It's the type of insurance where you are covered for as long as you live and you continue to make timely premium payments. What I like about is it can provide you money down the road to assist with temporary needs or emergencies. Being covered should not be restricted to those who can only afford. A whole life insurance is very affordable and can be attained by all.

    A Father's Concern

As a father my husband is always worried about our kids' future. It's not that he's expecting that something bad will happen to him but because it's something that cannot be prevented, he wants to be prepared. He already has an insurance coverage but times have changed and he feels that is not enough. I've seen him requesting for insurance quotes from several companies the other day. He's planning to purchase another one. That would be an additional cost but I didn't argue with him, it's for the kids' future anyway.

    The Scent of Clementines

Whenever you are feeling anxious, stop and inhale the aroma of clementines. Researchers found that women who were exposed to the sweet scent felt more relaxed and collected. They suspect that the smell triggers the release of serotonin, a feel-good neurotransmitter in the brain.

For every day instant calm, try making a citrus centerpiece. To do: Using a lemon zester, lightly carve swirl or spiral shapes into the surface of 5 to 6 clementines and arrange them in a large bowl. You may add a handful of whole clove leaves and cinnamon sticks to accent your centerpiece. PLace in common area of the house and replace fruits after one week. :)

    I need a new laptop

Now that my dear old Sam (my Toshiba Satellite) finally retired, I am back to abusing hub's desktop. Though I never heard him complain, I can sense that he wants me to get a new one soon so he he can work on his PC longer. We have already checked several netbooks on the web. I found something that I really like, a red one much smaller than Sam. It's on sale but I still need to save some more to afford it. Hopefully, by the end of the month. :)

    The Graduate

My nephew's girlfriend recently graduated. You know how all new graduates are, excited to land their first jobs and looking forward to a bright future ahead. Despite the recession, I'm glad that hiring has not diminished. Miami Job Search has many openings. In fact, she already submitted her resume, despite having offers from local companies. She's an Advertising graduate and is very optimistic that she'll easily find a job. She graduated with honors and as soon as she submitted her resume, offers by some companies abroad have started to come in. Congratulations sweetie! I wish you good luck and I pray that you'll choose wisely.

    Eggs Sharpen All Your Senses

Still avoiding eggs? If you are a regular reader of this blog, you know that consuming eggs in the morning is actually good for you. Here are more reasons to love the oval beauties more.

CRYSTAL-CLEAR VISION. Eggs are packed with lutein, an eyesight-protecting antioxidant. The lutein that we get from eggs is more readily absorbed by the body because of the abundant fats in yolks. This antioxidant thwarts free radical damage to the retina by preventing inflammation of the macular pigment. This part of the eye shields the retina from the damaging effects of light, improving your vision.

FAST RECALL. Eggs are a top source of choline, a brain-boosting nutrient. The yolk of one egg already provides 300 mcg of this powerful nutrient. Choline is a key component of acetylcholine, a brain chemical that keeps memory-essential neurons flexible, heightening their ability to rapidly accept information.

FREEDOM FROM UTIs. Consuming eggs can help stave off urinary tract infections. Thanks to peptides, proteins found in egg whites that bind to infection-causing E. coli. This process prevents bacteria from adhering to the walls of the urinary tract.

CURB CRAVINGS. Having two eggs for breakfast each morning can reduce your caloric intake by 400 calories. Researchers discovered that the fiber and protein in eggs increase satiety by 50 %, prolonging feelings of fullness.

So you see, there are more benefits in consuming eggs than harm, you can enjoy them everyday.

    Our Friend's New Business

My friend is starting a new business, he'll be putting up a manufacturing plant and is looking for industrial equipment suppliers. Hubs promised to help him out but got too busy the last two days with his writing job. Not wanting to disappoint our friend, I was asked to do it. I recommended Reid Supply because I heard they're one of the most popular and most reliable suppliers. Their stocks are fairly priced too, so I'm sure he'll be able to get good deals from them.

    Restore Moisture and Shine

Dull hair? That's because low humidity and heaters leave the strands dull and parched, enough reason for you to reach for a deep conditioner in hopes of a fix. But here's a better way to restore shine and moisture. Use a shampoo for color-treated hair even if your strands aren't dyed. According to salon experts, these gentle formulas contain lower levels of the sufactants that make hair dry and strip away color. These shampoos are infused with hydrating ingredients like vitamin E that replace precious moisture lost to cold weather. So to make your hair shine again in the dead of winter, simply replace your regular shampoo with the ones especially formulated for colored treated hair.

    Thank You FC!!!

    Getting Rid of Holiday Fats

I have already posted this article last year but I'd like to share this again with you. I'm sure many of you would love to try this especially those who gained a few pounds during the holiday season. Here's the trick to melt off those holiday pounds...

A tropical fruit cleanse featuring papaya and pineapple can melt off 7 pounds in one day. It's because of papaya's papain and the pineapple's bromelain, both are enzymes that fight fat. They work hand in hand to break down protein to reduce abdominal bloat and dissolve fat-trapping waste in the circulatory system for fast elimination. The combo also revs fat-burning liver function and neutralizes inflammatory compounds to reduce gut inflammation.

For a one-day cleanse, here's what you need: cut at least 4 peeled papayas and 2 peeled pineapples into small chunks, place in a bowl and chill. Munch on these fruits whenever hunger strikes. Don't forget to drink at least 2 liters of water throughout the day. This seems very easy to do, so I'm definitely going to give it a try because I don't think I can last the one-day fluid only cleanse.

    Thank You FC!!!
