Look Radiant with Milk and Honey

Glowing skin is just minutes away with this DIY mask I found. Milk and honey work so well together when it comes to beautifying the skin. Notice how this combo has become main ingredients in soaps, creams and lotions? That's because milk works to gently slough off dead cells while honey moisturizes the skin. Here, try this milk and honey mask.

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon oat powder
  • 1/2 avocado, mashed
Whisk ingredients together and apply to face with a warm damp towel. (The heat will help release the vitamins.) After 15 minutes, rinse off with warm water and pat skin dry.

DVD Duplication Service

My aunt is asking for my help on their forthcoming wedding anniversary celebration. The big event will be held next month and I was tasked to take care of the souvenirs. She wanted to give out a collection of their favorite love songs recorded on dvd with of course, their picture on the cover. If I have to make 150-200 copies of it, I don't think my dvd copier can do it. I have to look for a dvd duplication service to do this. Although budget is not a problem, I don't want the couple to be spending much on them. It's the least I can do for my favorite aunt. I'm looking for something that offers print and packaging alternatives to go along with the DVD duplication. A friend says, I can find a service that also offers dvd cases and sleeves as well.

Say Bye To Unwanted Hair

Most women say hair removal is too painful, too messy or too expensive. But I've read that azulene wax works wonders on skin. Derived from a South American chamomile plant, the blue wax contains oil with anti-inflammatory properties and it calms skin during waxing to minimize redness. Compared to the pricey Brazilian wax used in spas, azulene melts close to body temperature so there's less irritation and burning after waxing. And because this wax is so soft, it can surround and grab hairs as short as one millimeter versus the standard 1/4 inch. You don't have to wait for hair to grow long to wax again.

Search Engine Optimization, the easiest way to advertise

Building a website is easy. You can start with a free website or purchase your own domain. But the hard part is maintaining it -- getting noticed and selling your products. Sure you can work hard for it and visit as many websites as you can to promote (you need a lot of time to do this), and if you have the budget... advertise! But one easy way to get noticed without spending much is through search engine optimization. If you google it, you'll find that there are a lot of websites offering you seo services to promote your site, some are even offered for free. You have to be careful though because many seo companies crop up with promises of getting your site's traffic up but you'll end up with so little.

If you're to use search engine optimization, make sure you choose a reliable one that will help you not only get more traffic but promote your products or services as well. Remember, first impressions last and your seo tool should be able to deliver what your business is all about at first glance.

Vacation Temptation

About two months ago, my cousin-in-law happily told me that she finally reached her goal weight. She lost a total of 21 pounds in the last year. Well, congratulations cuz! Me? I'm still struggling to lose weight, sigh. Now she's extra excited about their annual vacation (she tells me those Branson vacation packages are really great). But she's worried that she'll have to suffer while everyone else eats desserts and sips yummy cocktails.

I told her to have healthy snacks throughout the day (more on fruits!) and refresh with water so she won't be so hungry come dinner time. That way she won't be tempted to eat a lot and won't feel guilty even if she gets a taste of dessert and have a glass of cocktail.

Tempting Sale

It's the time of the year when malls around here are having a sale. The HDTV hubs and I saw yesterday while shopping for my son's school supplies was so tempting. It was a 30-inch flat screen tv offered with a free dvd player and tv rack only for Php 25K. Standing right in front of it, we were imagining how perfectly it would fit in our room, but somebody has to have sense so I quickly grabbed hubs' arm and pulled him away from the window. It won't do us any good if we buy it at this time when there are more important things to worry about. In a couple of months.... maybe. :)

Seaweed, another jewel from the sea

Not many of us like the smell and taste of seaweed, but I hope this news will have you looking at seaweed in a different light. Recent research shows we should eat it more often if we want to delay the signs of aging. That's because it's the only substance on earth that has the same mineral ratio as human blood plasma. The characteristic makes the seaweed easily absorbable through the - as long as it's broken down into tiny, micronized particles. Their study shows that the minerals and vitamins in seaweed extracts can slow down the signs of aging.

They also found out that seaweed extracts can pull some toxins and heavy metals out of the body and its slime produces an emollient effect, adding moisture to skin and hair. It's a very rich source of skin-fortifying omega 3 and can also boost iodine levels, which may help prevent the thin, dry skin and hair loss associated with iodine-related hypothyroidism.

You may opt to take supplements or enjoy the yummy seaweed wraps (mmm.... sushi!) or sprinkle kelp or dulse flakes, spiked with garlic or onion powder, on any dish in place of salt.

Blog Talk Radio

Have you heard about Blog Talk Radio? Sometimes it gets boring listening to local radio stations and more often than not, they play the same music genres. I discovered not just an alternative to your usual sounds but an Internet Radio that also features pod casts, music news, Talk Radio, and live event broadcasting.

With the advent of mobile computing your phone, lap top, personal digital assistant, ipods and other wi-fi equipped gadgets you won't be needing the traditional radio. Unlike your ordinary radio station you can directly access music videos, music news, and pod casts without being bothered by irritating advertisements and commercials. You will not be restrained to big named music companies which regular radio programs play. Now you can grab whatever music you want to listen to and you will not be a prisoner of traditional disc jocks. You can even listen to their featured live talk programs, chat with the hosts, or join the conversations happening daily.

Blog Talk Radio is a great radio station, and I heard it is the largest, which features not only the well-knowned artists and bands. It also features indie music. With this in mind, upcoming bands and singers will now be able to reach out to more listeners. Their upcoming live Online Radio shows is a welcome expansion to an already established radio station. Now you have more choices when it comes to listening to music, women's interests, health concerns, comedy, self help, travel, sports and many others.

A Date With My Son

My son and I had a date yesterday. We saw the movie Karate Kid. It's a good thing we had pre-bought tickets because we were running late. I wasn't able to leave the store as planned because the ice cream agent came and I had to place my orders. I was planning to go early so we can pass by Watson's to buy my daughter's acne face wash. We arrived just in time for the movie. It was a good and funny one and my son had a great time. I had forgotten all about the face wash because we had to hurry back home after the movie to prepare dinner. So later today, I'm going out again to buy her one.

Why Spend More?

When it comes to looking young, many women are willing to spend hundreds of dollars to get rid of crow's feet, laugh lines and the unsightly lines on their foreheads. Those who can afford (thousands!) even buy products containing gold, silver, diamonds, pearls or other precious gems. These precious metals and stones not only add a touch of luxury to their usual beauty routine but are believed to help delay signs of aging. I wonder if all this bling are really worth your beauty buck?

Whether your product contains any of these glilttery stones, precious metals, or the usual anti-wrinkle cream ingredients, the main goal is to slough off the top layer of dead skin to reveal a younger-looking you. It really doesn't matter whether you use prevera, get a diamond peel, or use skincare products that contain gems, they practically work the same. So don't feel you are lacking in advantage if you're using a product that's more affordable, just because these stones glitter doesn't necessarily mean they are skincare gold.

This type of banana is often used in cooking. Although they can be eaten like our usual bananas, the meat is tougher and less sweet. The fruits in the picture are about 12 to 15 inches long.
