Soothe Cracked Heels

Hydrate dry cracked heels with a peppermint foot lotion. Simply opening the cap of the lotion and you get a whiff of the bracing peppermint scent, you already feel a surge of energy; your weary and dry feet would love that. Peppermint oil instantly refreshes and moisturizes tired feet. Do this nightly and you'll have soft, pink heels.

Remix Songs Made Easy

If you grew up in the 80s, you probably loved remix music. And if you went to the discos, you have seen how the DJs did it. Yeah, spinning and scratching records to create different sounds and extend the song to make it last 10 minutes or longer. I grew up in the 80s and I used to love remix songs. In fact, I still have some of them in my playlist. And if you think, remix have died, you are so wrong. Nowadays, remix songs are done digitally. Yup, a software, like the lowest price on trackor scratch software that I found online, is used to extend songs, seamlessly merge the world of DJing and live performance, and to add different sounds to a song. Although it was fun watching the DJs then to scratch the long playing albums to create that scratching sound, modern technology allowed them to do it easily.

Meaningful Beauty Crème de Serum

I was recently given the opportunity to review Meaningful Beauty Creme de Serum courtesy of Influenster. I used Olay ever since I started using moisturizers. Never tried other brands because I've known Oil of Olay since I was young. Also, I was not blessed with great skin; Olay worked for me, no breakouts whatsoever so I stayed loyal.

Full size: 30 ml/1oz.
Price: $39.95

I am 46. I have a few dark spots but I'm proud to say that I don't have wrinkles and laugh lines, yet. It didn't scare me to try the Creme de Serum because hey, it's Cindy Crawford's name on the cover; she wouldn't dare put her name on something that's not good.

My skin felt velvety smooth when I applied it. It's not thick and it glided smoothly on my skin. Best of all it's not greasy. My skin is already oily so you can just imagine how shiny it's going to be if I used something that's greasy.

What I like about it?

I have mentioned earlier that it made my skin soft and smooth. It's not greasy and it works well on both dry and oily skin. It's also fascinating to look at with the white and light orange spirals inside the bottle. And the price! Glad the name Cindy Crawford didn't make it expensive.

What I didn't like?

Nothing!

Would I recommend it?

Definitely!

Disclaimer: I have received one or more of the products mentioned above in exchange for my honest review. I was not paid for my thoughts and opinions. What was written above are 100 percent my own and was in no way influenced by the brand or anyone.

Minimize the Appearance of Blackheads

Problem blackheads? No matter how diligent you are at washing your face everyday and cleaning it thoroughly with a tones, those unsightly black dots still mar your complexion. The reason why blackheads appear is because of clogged pores. To minimize the appearance of blackheads, exfoliate to help keep pores from getting clogged.

If your skin is very oily, look for a facial scrub containing salicylic acid. The solution help unclog pores. For those who have sensitive skin, look for a facial scrub containing natural fruit enzymes to gently loosen dead skin cells. Never scrub skin is if it's sunburned or irritated.

Accessorize

Having the right accessories to go with every outfit will make you look more stunning. Of course, nothing beats real jewelries but costume jewelries are more practical and less expensive. These are usually made from less expensive materials but they don't look cheap at all. Nowadays these accessories are widely available and the designs are amazing. I have one favorite fashion jewelry store. They have everything from casual to formal and most of their designs can be mistaken for fine jewelry. If you want to make any outfit look great, accessorize!

Fight Flakiness and Dryness

Expect dryness and flakiness when the temps are cooler and you will need a richer cream to fight this. A body oil or cream is best applied right after a shower while skin is still damp to lock in moisture. And whatever you do and even if the sun is hiding from the clouds, never forget the sunblock. Your skin is less likely to get burned when it's cooler outside but you can still absorb harmful UVA and UVB rays that lead to skin damage and possibly skin cancer. Reapply after a few hours.

Finished or Unfinished Wood Boxes

I'm sure by this time you are either halfway through or just finishing up your shopping. Me? I haven't even started yet. Haha. But I'm not really worried because I am planning to give wood boxes to friends and family. For the non-crafters, I'd give them the finished wood boxes so they can use them right away. And for friends and family who love arts and crafts, they'll receive the unfinished boxes. Unfinished in the sense that they'd be the ones to add the finishing touches and let their creativity run. I'm sure everyone will be happy with this unique gift.

It’s Christmas Giveaway (ends Dec. 02)

It’s Christmas Giveaway Event

And since it's Christmas why don't you try making your won ham? Here's a simple and delicious recipe I'm sure your family and guests will love.

Ingredients:
  • big chunk of pork around 1kg {Kasim or Pigue}
  • 4 tbsp white sugar
  • 1½ tbsp salt
  • ¼ tsp praque powder
  • ¼ tsp msg
  • 1 cup of local Gin
  • 2-3 cups + ½ cup Pineapple Juice
  • ¼ cup brown Sugar
  • cloves

Directions:
  1. Combine white sugar, salt, praque, msg and gin in a bowl. Mix well.
  2. Using a knife make incisions in your block of meat.
  3. The sugar and salt won’t be dissolved in the gin right away. Rub your sugar-salt mixture outside the meat and put some in the incisions that you made as well.
  4. Put meat inside the ham net and set aside in the fridge for 15 days or more with the marinade, taking it out every other day to put some of the marinade inside the incisions.
  5. After, 15 days, take it out of the fridge and out of the ham net and boil your ham in Pineapple juice for 25 minutes.
  6. Let it cool for a few minutes then put ham in a baking tray, fat side up.
  7. Insert cloves alternately into the ham net markings.
  8. Make pineapple-brown sugar glaze by mixing ¼ cup brown Sugar and ½ cup Pineapple Juice in a sauce pan. Stir until sugar dissolves. Bring it into a boil and simmer until thick.
  9. Brush ham with glaze and bake into the oven at 300ºF until bubbly and a little brown.
  10. To serve: garnish with parsley and cherries.

Beauty Secret (10) - How to Avoid dark Spots

Dark spots? Those are hyperpigmentation and is caused by too much pigment in the skin. A lot of women are concerned because the patches aren't pretty, but these spots are usually harmless. Too much exposure to sunlight is one of the main reasons why we have brown spots, so limit sun exposure, wear protective clothing, and use apply water-resistant sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 15 to prevent hyperpigmentation.

Simply beautiful! That is how I would describe this gorgeous necklace and how I wish I have one of Erin Pelicano's pretty creations. If you want to own a beautiful neclace too, I invite you to join the giveaway below. One very lucky reader will win a gift certificate worth  $45.00 to purchase an item of your choice.

~oOo~

Today is my birthday so I thought I would share with my readers my new favorite necklace! I am not usually a huge fan of jewelery. The jewelery that I bother to wear normally has a meaning or is just a simple piece that is easily added on the go! That is why I love Erin Pelicano and the simple yet stunning pieces that she makes! Let me share a little about the owner.

Erin Pelicano is a designer and crafter at heart.Years of creating, inspired by a silver-smith course, and soul meant for design, Erin finds her inspiration in the small nuances of everyday life. Her experiences have always held the thread of creative aspirations (she did create the first ever line of trash bag clothes at the age of 7).

After years in the construction engineering field, Erin followed her dream of creating. Simple. Beautiful. Meaningful. These are words that describe my designs and my creative spirit. I design and create each piece by hand from my Maryland studio. As a mother of 3, it has been my dream to follow a creative path while raising my children. Every piece is handcrafted to bring the wearer simple joy with style and meaning.
Recently we got to try one of these lovely pieces and I love this necklace. It is beautiful and simple. This necklace is just the perfect touch to any outfit. We choose the generations necklace it contains three loops and a beautiful saying in the packaging. Let me show you!

I love how each necklace comes with an inspirational saying and most of her necklace have a meaning! This just adds something special a heart felt to each gift!

Here are just a few more samples of the beautiful work she offers!

Children Learning Reading Program - Teaching Children To Read! Review

I was given the opportunity to review Children Learning Reading Program - Teaching Children To Read! I downloaded the program right away because I was excited to start teaching the twins how to read. The girls turned two last June, but unlike other tots in their age, these two can't speak yet. They can only utter one or two syllables and sometimes three but not in the form of real words. The only solid words we hear them say are "mama" and "baba." Oh, but they can understand everything you tell them and they can also tell you in terms of actions what they want and what they want to do. My cousin, who also happens to be their pediatrician says it is normal and there's nothing to worry about. Speech can be delayed most especially to twins because they have their own language.

While they can't speak yet, I thought I'd give them the basics in reading through the Children Learning Reading Program. Letter recognition was what I was after when I learned that I am reviewing the program. We started with stage one. Both were excited when I showed them the word BUS. There was no picture, just the simple letters b-u-s. I was pronouncing each letter as I pointed it to them. Sophie got it aftera while and uttered ba - uh - sss, BUS repeatedly. Yup, she was able to say the word bus! Soleil was hesitant and only pronounced the letter and the word after a few days. Although she's a little reckless with everything, she's more careful with words and doesn't like to say them unless she's sure she's at least close to the sound.

I kept repeating the word and the pronunciation to them. When we are out, instead of showing them the letters, I showed them a real bus. When Sophie saw the letter B on a billboard she pointed to it. She didn't say the sound of the letter but it's a good sign that she was able to recognize it.

It's been almost two weeks with this wonderful learning program but we're still on stage 1. At this point, both girls are able to recognize the letters B, U and S and they know by heart, how to pronounce each letter. Yes, I know what you're thinking. We're a little slow. We have not started with a new word because I don't want to rush them. They are only 2 and I want them to have fun. It makes me happy enough that even though they can't speak yet, they are learning how to read and speak words at the same time.

So, would I recommend this? Definitely! If you have kids this program is perfect to teach children of all ages to read well. If I'm able to do it with our little ones, I don't see any reason why you can't help your kids learn how to read the fun and easy way. You can see more success stories and videos in their website: http://www.childrenlearningreading.org/. The standard package costs $49.95, which I think is worth it considering your kids will learn so much. The package includes:

  • Children Learning Reading - Stage 1
  • Children Learning Reading - Stage 2
  • Bonus #1: Lesson Stories for Stage 1
  • Bonus #2: Lesson Stories for Stage 2
  • Bonus #3: Letter Sounds MP3 Audio Clips
  • Bonus #4: The Most Common Sight Words
  • Bonus #5: Children's Favorite Nursery Rhymes
  • Bonus #6: Lifetime Program Upgrades
  • Super Bonus #7: 12 Week One-on-One Consultations

You may also include the Add-On Children Learning Reading Premium package for only $19.95. Both their programs are user friendly, effective and very helpful.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Things You Should Know About Washing Your Face

I'm sure you already know that good skin starts with a clean face, but if you think simply washing your face is enough for you to have a clean face, think again. For you to have a clean face, you need to remove your makeup first before you can start washing. The cleanser can't reach your skin if you still have your makeup on. Besides, most cleansers can't remove makeup; you will need a good makeup remover to do it.

Never use soap on your face. Most soaps contain drying ingredients which your facial skin don't need. Look for a facial cleanser that's gentle on your skin. So, how often do you need to wash your face? Once in the morning and in the evening is best.

When you are done cleansing, rinse thoroughly and repeatedly to remove cleanser. Use tepid or lukewarm water to rinse your face. Too hot or too cold water could irritate skin. And remember, cleaning involves more than just a cleanser. You should wash your hands thoroughly before you even begin washing your face. Then, dry your face by gently patting a clean towel; don't rub!

My Son and His Guitar

My son can't wait to check out the newly opened music store near our place. Although he's not playing professionally, he's really spending for the accessories of his electric guitar. I'm not complaining because he's saving up his allowance. This time, he wants to buy the best fishman aura. He tells me that it's a guitar amplifier to have better sound. I guess I'll never be able to understand all these things. I just hope that he's not wasting money and let his "toys" collect dust when he gets tired of them.
