2. Rest


For many people, the mix of junk food and a lack of sleep will lead to two weeks in bed with a cold. Too often, people believe they are invincible and don't need that much rest. Your body requires rest or it will forcefully breakdown so it can receive it. When you're sick, this is not the time to try and do work. Sleep as much as possible. In fact, don't be afraid to sleep and take naps around the clock. Your body is crying out for it. There are people who get sick and stay sick for months because they haven't taken the time to sleep and nurse themselves back to health. If you get the rest you need immediately, you'll have a better chance of getting better at a quicker rate.


3. Medicinal Supplements


A part of nursing yourself back to health involves taking medicinal treatments. A nebulizer helps someone with breathing issues. Some Vitamin C tablets will help to boost the immune system. Cough syrup or cold & flu tablets work well to push the cold through the system and manage the symptoms. If you have a fever and some seemingly relentless cold symptoms, go to the doctor. 4. Dairy-Free Foods

Dairy has a way of causing congestion. Stay away from anything with milk, yogurt, cheese or butter. It might seem like you're missing out on all the good foods, but you're not.
