1. I can drive but I don't want to. With the kind of drivers we have here in the Philippines (especially the public transportation drivers) I'd rather be a passenger, lol. I may not be a good driver but I'm a good navigator :) .

2. I'm a night owl. I sleep at 6 am after my son leaves for school and wake up at 11 am. If you will notice, my posts are mostly done in the wee hours of the morning.

3. I enjoy reading books and watching movies, what's weird about it? I've always wanted or wished for a happy ending. Even if it doesn't end that way, I would imagine it with my own happy ending.

4. I remember when I was 4, my brother and I was crossing the bridge (2 stories high) from our house going to our grandparents' house. It was kinda dark and both of us were afraid. We were in such a hurry to get to the other house when I stumbled and found myself hanging on the side of the bridge. I heard my brother cry and call for me, he tried to help me holding my right hand really tight to lift me. I was trying to get up too but I just couldn't. For a few minutes we both tried, but when I got tired, I knew I had to let go. I closed my eyes and released my grip on the bridge. When I opened my eyes, I was already on the ground lying face down. Frightened and shaking, I got up quickly. I was soaked in grease because I fell on the garage. I quickly checked on the front door but it was locked, so I had to run to the back to check on the kitchen door. I knew I had to get in the house quick and get to my brother who was crying and screaming, I had to tell him that I'm alright. I was looking for a way in when I heard my dad called, I felt relieved when I heard him so I answered "I'm here and I'm alright". They wanted to make sure that I was really alright so they rushed me the hospital. The doctor was even surprised when I was asked what happened, no bruises and broken bones. The tests given to me showed negative results.

5. I married way too early. I graduated from college at 19 and married on the same year. My dad is very strict, I eloped with my husband. Now that's another story I hope to write in the future.

6. I love going to the grocery. I could spend hours browsing through the products and trying out the new ones. For me, this is one of the best chores as a mommy.***

7. When I was younger, I used to have long, thick wavy hair. I've always hated it because my mom never allowed me to have it straightened. I've always longed for long straight and shiny hair.

It's a very popular condiment but can also be used for arthritis and rheumatism by crushing the fruit and mixing it with oil and applying it to the affected part.

Instant Karma

Yesterday I was at the supermarket shopping for groceries to be sold at my store. I went there just after I had lunch to avoid the after office rush. After 2 hours I had 5 fully loaded shopping carts. I went to the counter and patiently waited for my turn.

I was already halfway through my 3rd cart when a man (in his late forties I suppose) stood behind my last cart. Seeing my two other carts, he should have left the line and went to other cashiers. But he didn't. He just stood there quietly with his half-filled cart.

As I was finishing my 3rd cart, he started mumbling, but I'm sure he wanted me hear what he was saying. Things like... Oh! That's a lot... and that it's getting late. I didn't bother to look at him. Then he suddenly told the cashier "hey, I'm gonna leave my cart for a moment, I'll be back and don't forget that I'm next to her." (pointing at me) The poor girl just nodded.

He was back in a few minutes, and it seemed that what he did was not enough, he took his cellphone and called someone (his wife maybe). Angrily, he snapped at the person on the other line asking why on earth he wasn't told that there so many people in that supermarket and that lining up is really a burden for him. His voice was so loud that he attracted a lot of attention. People turned around and looked at him with shaking heads.

I really got annoyed with his behavior but I held back and refrained myself from looking at him. Afraid that if I do so I might say something that I know he wouldn't like to hear and could spark a fight. I patiently told myself "Liza, calm down, be cool and just continue unloading your stuff. The cashier even commented (in a whisper) "He should have come early to avoid the long lines." I just smiled at her and shrugged my shoulders.

Finally, I was done, and while waiting for my receipt ( a long one at that), the cash register ran out of paper. Hah! In my mind I was laughing... there goes your Karma... lol. He had to wait another 10 minutes or so for the paper change and for my receipt, which was printed all over again. All I can hear are his sighs and from his gestures, I can see how irritated he was.

But that's not the end of the story yet... when I finally got my receipt, the cashier had to sign out and be replaced by the reliever. Uh-oh! He had to wait for the new girl to sign in after the other one had counted all her sales. This delayed him again... for a few more minutes. Silently, I was laughing to myself... Oh this is such a wonderful afternoon! God really has his ways of getting even for me.

Wordless Wednesday #1

Meme - What's in your bag?

Now, this is really an interesting tag from Max. I'm about to share to you the contents of my bag.

I'm not really fancy about my bags. I am very lazy when it comes to changing bags. I don't like transferring my stuff and then forget some things from the other bag.

I normally carry a big one because whenever we got out, the kids always ask me to keep their things inside my bag.

This bag is a gift from my sister when she went home for a three-week vacation last July.





These are what's inside my bag. The taller bottle is my favorite cologne (Angel's Breath) and the pink one is my hand sanitizer. Standing beside the cologne is my gel pen. I've always fancied gel pens :) .

Inside the small plastic pouch is my head set and at the back is obviously, my wallet. Next to it are my eyeglasses.

I always make sure my cellphone charger is inside my bag. Beside it is my coin purse and my hairbrush.

The rosary is a gift from a very dear friend, Lyn. It's made from rose petals, and loved the rosy smell of my bag every time I open it.

Beside the rosary are some candies, and next to those are my two cellphones. The black and silver one is my main cellphone and is used for business transactions, etc. The other one is for friends and family.

The gingerbread house of Mandarin Oriental in Gateway. My daughter and I were browsing through their goodies yesterday. Their fruit cake is so yummy.

Forgetful

The past days I've been posting a lot of tags! I'm not complaining, I actually enjoy these tags. Thank you guys for remembering me. This one's from Yen.

Behind the Decision - A Meme

Sasha tagged me on this. It's about why I decided to monetize my blog.

Several months ago, my daughter have been encouraging me to blog. I always answer her with a nod or sometimes "Ok, but what for?" Five months later, I never imagined that I will really be blogging. I've heard from a lot of people that they have been earning from their blogs. That gave me a very good idea and thought... Why not give it a try?

With the hard time that my country is going through right now, things are getting really tough. Prices have all gone up. I had to think of ways to eke the growing needs of my family. And then I thought of blogging. I decided to give it a try and earn from it. I am not ashamed to admit that it was my main objective for blogging.


Little did I know that I will enjoy it as much. Having fun writing, meeting new friends, replying to interesting memes, receiving special awards from very nice people whom I've just met and earning from it,too.


I am very new to this and my blog is only a month and a half old. I have not made much from it yet, however, with the very little "$" that I've earned... it makes me proud, and of course, happy. And yes Sasha, who wouldn't want to earn green bucks?

My Other Love

Aside from my family and blogging, bowling is my other passion. It started when my brother came home from Japan. He actually influenced the whole clan (lol) into ten-pin bowling. We were then bowling for fun. I remember... we used to meet on Fridays and bowl girls versus boys. The girls won most of the time.

A few months later, we decided to join the Friday league. As we were beginners and have no real training on bowling, we were throwing straight balls and didn't even have our own bowling balls. We were amazed by how the other bowlers throw their balls, some have small hooks and others have big hooks ( we call them crankers). And beginners that we are, we were always at the bottom come awarding time, even if we had maximum handicaps. :)

Stu, whom we've met from the league (later on became a very good friend and the godfather of my son), volunteered to train us (me, my husband, my brother and sister-in-law) for free. He patiently taught us the basics in bowling.

The training paid off and the whole family became addicted to the sport. We were in a league three times a week and even joined open tournaments. I remember one time... I even played 24 games in one day just to qualify for the finals of an international open bowling tournament. On the last squad I made it to the finals but my fingers were so sore that I didn't get to play well for the finals the next day. I vowed never to do that again. Lol.

In a very short time I was upgraded from class B to class A and became more addicted to it. I've won in tournaments and collected lots of trophies and medals. And even traveled to other Asian countries to compete for the Asian Intercity Tournaments. It was fun and I enjoyed it a lot.

I gained a lot of friends, some of them became my very good friends and a few became my 'enemies'. Sad to say, even in this sport politics is very much alive. It was then that I decided to slow down on bowling. I couldn't stand the intrigues and envy of my so-called enemies.

At present, I bowl once a week and still retains my average of 182. The league is not as competitive as the ones I've played before, but now I play for real fun and I play with real friends.





My "Blaze", is my favorite. It's 15.2 lbs, pin out, polished reactive ball and manufactured by Storm. This ball game me a high game of 272 and a four-game series of 868. My best games ever.




These are the three bowling balls that I regularly bring. The blue one in the middle weighs 15.2 lbs also. It's a dull finished reactive ball and made by Columbia. Ronnie, my dear friend, gave it to me, used but still very powerful. This is my ball #1 usually used on fast or oily lanes. The red one at the bottom is my Blaze. It's ball #2 and used on medium lanes. The one at the top, the silver ball is made of plastic, it doesn't hook much and very ideal for sparing.

Joke Time - Mother-in-law

A woman had three girls.
One day, she decides to test her sons-in laws.

She invites the first one for a stroll by the
lake shore, purposely falls in and pretends to be drowning.

Without any hesitation, the son-in-law jumps in and saves her.

Here's another interesting meme. Max has tagged me for the things that annoyed me the most. And here's what I got to say...


1. Disorganization - Ditto with Max. It pisses me when things are out of place, especially when I've just done cleaning and organizing things.

2. People with sharp tongues - It annoys me when I hear people commenting or saying bad things about other people. As my mom always say... " If you have nothing better to say, keep quiet."

3. Traffic - If you don't know, the traffic here in the Philippines, particularly in Metro Manila is terrible. Usually a 10 minute drive will take you about an hour or so.

4. Tardiness - It's really annoying when you have to wait for someone for "10 years" ( my term for latecomers... lol).

5. Not minding their own business - I hate it when people meddle in my affairs, telling me to do this and that. Unsolicited advices annoy me, however, good advices are always welcome.

My blog has a new face! After a month of blogging I was finally able to change my template. Thanks to my lovely daughter Mai, who helped me with all the html stuff. I couldn't do it without her.

I'm not a tech savvy, so when it comes to editing, photoshop, etc., she always come to my rescue. And finally, after two days of editing here it is. I hope you like it ;)

For Blog and Money [FM8984-1]

I have been blogging for a little over a month now. Actually, I decided to create my blog to earn money from it. I've heard from a few friends that you can actually earn from it. And as soon as I've created moms..... check nyo, I started signing up with almost all the money making sites I could find in the net.

My blog has gone through a lot of rejections (hehe) due to the following reasons; my blog has to be 3 months old to get approved and my blog ranking is still very low. I knew I had to think of ways to pull up my ranking so, I joined several memes so that I could generate more viewers for my blog. I have to admit, the memes helped a lot and I enjoyed posting for them. My family is into this also... helping me think and taking a lot of pictures for the theme of the week.

After only a few weeks, I got approvals from bl*gvertise and bl*ggerwave. I have posted several articles for them and the pay out is still not that 'big', but that's enough good news for me :) . However, two new friends; Sasha and Rems commented, telling me that bl*ggerwave has the reputation of forgetting their advertisers come payment time. :(

I never thought I'd be hooked up. And the real fun is meeting new friends from around the globe. My blog is my new baby. Although I only have "few" sponsors, I'm sure in the future I'll have more ;).

Now I'm not just idle in my free hours... I'm writing and earning... and blogging is really worth my while. :)

Be Patient
