Review: All Natural Fiber Bamboo Charcoal Facial Sponge
I first heard about Konnyaku in a Japanese cooking show and never have I imagined that it could also be used as a beauty tool. Yup, Konnyaku, Elephant's Tongue or Konjac is used as a facial sponge to clean the face. I was recently sent a sample of All Natural Fiber Bamboo Charcoal Facial Sponge by My Konjac Sponge via Tomoson.
Product Description
Important Information
Indications
Sponge comes in a completely sealed packaging in soft condition. After use, hang the sponge to dry. The sponge will shrink when it's completely dry. This is perfectly normal. Rinse and allow the sponge to fully absorb water to reuse the sponge.
Ingredients
A natural konjac powder made from konjac potato, and it has the addition of bamboo charcoal extract.
Directions
Rinse and allow the sponge to fully absorb water. The sponge can be used with or without your favorite cleanser. Gently massage face using a sponge in a circular motion. Rinse sponge after use and hang it to dry.
My Opinion
My skin is oily and prone to acne and I wanted to see how it will work on my skin, so I tried it immediately. The sponge is very dry and hard. I soaked it in water for a while. I was pleasantly surprised that it became soft after soaking for just a few seconds.
I massaged it on my face with just a drop or my facial cleanser, then washed with water as usual. It's gentle on the skin and after drying my face with a towel it feels soft and clean. A few days more and I noticed that my face is less oily, but not dry. This sponge really does its job at taming the oil.
Recommendation
If your problem is oily skin and acne, this is a good product to try. I am actually getting another one for my son who's suffering from acne.

As you can see in the photos, there is no difference in size, but the sponge felt really soft in a breeze. And to give you an idea on how big it is, below is a photo where I held it in my palm.
