For soft, kissable lips

During these cold months, sometimes, a lip balm is not enough to keep your lips rosy and soft. Lip balms still leave your lips dry and flaky. What's the best way to keep them soft? Use the toothbrush approach, but instead of using a regular toothbrush, use a baby toothbrush to slough off scaly flakes to avoid irritation. For best results, try dipping it in petroleum jelly first, then brush your lips in small circular motion. This increases blood flow, making your lips look plumper and giving them a rosy color.

I have always used a face cloth (flannel) on mine - twice each week in the summer and usually three times each week in the winter. Just gently rub on the damp cloth, dab dry then put a pearl drop of moisturiser lightly on both top and bottom lip before applying lipstick. This routine makes the lips look slightly more plumper and feel beautifully soft.

A really great tip...and with all of the extra baby toothbrushes I have...seriously, I think I have maybe 3 extra that my kids don't use? I will try this! Many thanks...

Hi Liza,

Thanks for your weekend wishes (I only saw them today): you are an absolute darling! I hope you had a great one, dear :D!

About this tip: yeah, it works perfectly! A few years ago, I used to suffer from dry lips and someone suggested this to me (I can't remember whom) and it worked! Only, since my lips are already pink...they became even more pink and people thought that I'd use lipstick LOL...

Excellent tip as always!

Have a great week, my friend!

P.S: I haven't been commenting much around here, cause things have been a bit hectic...work, work, work...but during Spring time things may get calmer!

Cheers my friend

Nice one Mommy Liz. What I do naman, after brushing my teeth, while my lips are still slightly moist, I use VANDOL OINTMENT. It's actually an all around ointment but commonly used for diaper rashes. Does magic!!!
