When it was exported to England, it took on the name marmalade. It eventually came to mean any preserved and sweetened fruit.
We found Phone-007 while searching the web and thought it's perfect. Well, I wasn't wrong. The phone 007 can record every calls made on it, it is a web-connected device, it can also record ambient sounds around it, when phone-007 starts recording, the owner will also get notification sms or notification calls to the number he or she has set. Another great feature is, the owner of the phone can hear the recordings on any computer for free. With this special phone, I'm sure they'll catch the stalker soon.
By the way, Spy phone 007 can also be used to catch a cheating spouse, for parental control, for
employee monitoring, and even long distance baby monitoring. The users users will not be able to notice you are eavesdropping from the web or from other phones. You can get unlimited listen-in from a web service for free.
The rules for passing this honor on are..
1) Pick 5 blogs that you would like to award this honor to. (This is the hard part--there are just so many good ones around it is very difficult to choose just five.)
4) Award-winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of "Arte y Pico" blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award. http://arteypico.blogspot.com/.
Here are my five recipients:
1.) Mira of Random Thoughts
2.) East Coast Life
4.) Moomette's Mama Mentor Blog
5.) Alexys of Soul Meets World

Of all the household chores, cleaning the house was never a problem because we used to have a cleaning lady to do it for me. But she left to start her own family and now I was left with all the chores. With all these, I knew I had to have a vacuum cleaner.

Basil is a tender low-growing herb that is grown as a perennial in warm, tropical climates. Basil is originally native to India and other tropical regions of Asia, having been cultivated there for more than 5,000 years. There are many varieties of basil, that which is used in Italian food is typically called sweet basil, as opposed to Thai basil or holy basil, which are used in Asia. It is prominently featured in Italian cuisine, and also plays a major role in the Southeast Asian cuisines of Thai, Vietnamese and Laotian. [wikipedia]
Aside from being a good insect repelant, we get a lot of health benefits from this herb. Scientific studies show that basil's essential oils have antioxidants which makes the herb anti-cancer, anti-aging, anti-viral and anti-microbial.

Because of my ardent desire to save, I discovered a do-it-yourself facial in a magazine. Here's how to do it: Boil some water and pour into a large or medium-sized bowl. Drop 2 or 3 bags of chamomile tea and let them steep for 2 minutes. Cover your head with a towel and hold it directly over the bowl. After 10 minutes, wash your face with cold water and a mild facial cleaner. Do it 2 or 3 times a week for that fresh clean skin.
If you need to do a research on zoo animals, endangered animals, facts, information and everything you wanted to know about the animal kingdom, the web site is the perfect online resource. You'll find the cutest animals, the ugliest animals, the biggest, the smallest, weird and funny animals and many more. My son especially liked the pika. It was named the second cutest endangered animal in North America in a recent World Wildlife Fund. The little, cute animal faces extinction as global warming is forcing the animals to move higher up in the mountains, leaving them with fewer housing options. Pikas can be seen at Denali National Park in Alaska.
The web site also offers Animal Activities and Crafts, he had fun playing "Match the Animal" game and almost forgot about his homework. Animal books and toys are also sold here. This is one web site that I can highly recommend parents to allow their kids to view.

Can you imagine the world without chocolate? I can't! I live on chocolates and it has always been my emotional cure-all. I have published several articles about chocolates in this blog and it seems that I'll never run out of good things to say about this yummy treat. There was an electricity outage the whole morning of yesterday until the early afternoon due to typhoon Frank and I had the time to read some magazines using a candle, lol.
I found out that in the 18th and 19th centuries, confectioners in Europe dispensed chocolate like medicine. The delicious treat loved by all was often prescribed for fevers, chest pains and stomach illnesses. It was also predictably believed as a sure-fire cure for people trying to gain weight. Today, it is marketed in some countries as a health food.
Indeed chocolate not only brings satisfaction to everyone, we get lots of benefits from it. The only drawback is that it is loaded with calories.

Besides saving a lot from insurance cost, construction is much faster than buildings using other materials. Don't worry about having your home built in steel, it can be given a conventional look by covering it with traditional materials so it won't look like an industrial building.

Surprised? I am too. My son would stay up too late playing games on his play station and this worries me a lot. When I stumbled upon this article, I had a sigh of relief. I was glad to know that the "bad habit" can actually do him good.
According to the article, the extra shut eye they get in the morning from sleeping late increases the body's antibody production, boosting a child's immunity by 50%. Plus, extended slumber help ward off cravings and cut junk food consumption by stabilizing the blood sugar.
You should not take it personally when your kid dons his earphones at the dinner table. He is not shutting you out. Kids who listened to 30 minutes of music daily produced 25% less of the stress hormone cortisol and leaves the kids feeling happier.
Studies show that kids who played video games for an hour every day improved their vision by 20%. The action-packed games push the body's visual system to its limits, and a child's developing brain quickly adapts.
Most of the kids now has his own cellphone. This could sometimes be very irritating to us parents. But studies show that kids who connect with friends through texting have a lower risk of feeling depressed. This past time strengthens social bonds thus, increasing production of the feel-good neurotransmitter serotonin.
Although these four habits may bring benefits to our kids, keep in mind that you also have to set limits. Everything in excess is not good.

Ginseng tea can slash away two days off the duration of an illness. It triggers 30% rise in blood levels of T-cells. These T-cells produce a lot of immune-stimulating chemicals when viruses attack. Moreover, ginseng eases symptoms of viral infections such as headaches, fatigue, nausea and brain fog.
So when you're feeling under the weather, try dried apricots and ginseng tea for speedy recovery.

Last Sunday, it was Fathers' Day, my kids and I surprised him with a digital trail camera. The camera is highly programmable and can take two photos a second for every second. It has no time out period and produces quality black and white photos. He couldn't believe his eyes when he opened our gift. It has been in his wish list for quite sometime and didn't have the slightest idea that he'll get it this year. He got really excited and set the camera trap in the garden and was able to capture some birds. The photos were amazing!
Now he can't for Saturday to use the deer camera and once again go hunting with his dad.

These incidents can be prevented by using child safety devices which are available in the market. When you're buying a safety device, look for products that are sturdy enough to prevent injury to your kids. KidSafe is your online resource for child proof products manufactured by popular companies like Safety 1st, Gerber, Evenflo, KidCo, Mommy's Helper and many more.
Some parents seek the help of professionals for childproofing. That is alright if you have the money to spare. Childproofing your home does not really cost much. Aside from these safety devices being easy to find, they are highly affordable. Installation is fairly easy too. Just remember to read about some home safety tips first before you start. There's a blog about child safety and baby proofing, you'll get a lot of pointers here.
I once had a neighbor who's son [2 1/2 years old] died from drowning. Oh no, you're wrong. The child did not drown in a pool, he drowned inside a pail half filled with water. Childproofing is really important. If you think your home is the safest place for your child, think again, it could be a minefield of hidden hazards.

Talking trash. Reuse what you already have to avoid throwing too much trash. It's similar to recycling but without the cost. A good example is converting soup cans or instant noodle plastic cups into organizers for pens, pencils and make-up brushes. Instead of throwing away cardboard tissue tubes, use them to hold unused or left-over gift wrappers.
A full refrigerator works more efficiently because less cold air escapes when the door opens. Move your frequently used items to the front and pack the empty spaces at the back with jugs of water.
Another man's garbage is another man's treasure. Instead of throwing some things you don't need anymore or just because they're old do not mean they can't be used by another. Hand it over to someone who is willing to take it off your hands.

Last night while blog hopping and dropping my entrecard, an article of a blogger friend caught my attention. She was talking about Reader's Digest Homepage. Whoa! It was good to know that they have a homepage, I thought Readers' Digest are not available anymore since I have not seen them in magazine stands here for years. I immediately followed the link and was amazed with RD.com - Make Your Mark program. It's about honoring people who made great contributions to people in the developing countries. I have to admit that Helen Little's story moved me. I admire her courage that even at 77 she still travels to Haiti just to help the poverty-stricken communities.
Wogging helps you burn more calories, build stronger bones, boost your fitness level and improve your health. It is actually like what kids normally do, they walk for a bit then start to run. A light jog is as easy as walking fast and wearing the right shoes will help your feet absorb shock. I recently purchased a pair of cushioned shoes because it is important for woggers to wear running shoes. I am not a wogger but I'd like to try it since most of my friends have been wogging every afternoon. I was told to buy a pair of running shoes before beginning as running shoes are lighter and can absorb more shock. Tomorrow afternoon, I start wogging. :)

When buying kiwis, look for plump, unwrinkled fruits. They should be firm or yield slightly to the touch. If the fruit is too firm, they can be ripened at room temperature in a few days. Kiwis can be kept in the fridge for about a week. If you need to store it longer it would be best to place them in a plastic bag to slow down the rate of ripening.

For more silkening benefits, the experts recommend mixing the oil with salt or sugar. Both are natural exfoliants and the granules will effectively slough away flaky skin. Here's the formula: add 1/2 cup of olive oil to 1 cup of sugar or salt [kosher preferred, but here in the Philippines rock salt can be used]. Stir well and rub onto hands and cuticles for 30 seconds. Rinse with warm water.

For super shiny hair here's what you should do... place a towel in a bowl of hot water. Shampoo your hair as usual. After rinsing, pour 1/2 cup of coconut milk over your head. Comb it down the length of your strands using your fingers and massage it into your scalp and along your hairline. Wring out the hot towel and wrap it around your head. Remove towel after 20 minutes and rinse hair. Doing this twice a week will give you super shiny hair.

hehe, Better than when I first took the test a few months ago.
Here are the rules:
1. Check out your Blog Readability Test here then post it.
2. (OPTIONAL) Stop asking yourself regarding the results of the test (LOL!)
3. Add your blog from the list together with the results.
4. Tag as many friends you like.

Nowadays, many acne treatments are available and they promise big improvements within two weeks only to be disappointed with the results. Many products for treating acne have come out claiming that they're very effective but you have to be careful because many of which are without any scientifically proven effects.
The best acne treatment should not contain any harsh ingredients like benzoyl peroxide. Benzoyl Peroxide will only dry and irritate skin. Look for the one that will help you clear the breakouts and help prevent new ones from forming. Making your skin healthy can help you get rid of acne.
If you too are ice cream lovers like my kids, how would you like to make your signature creation and get your friends to buy it? iMix America is holding Awesome Cold Stone Contest, a contest where you can put your skills to test and create your very own original ice cream flavor. Using the ingredients found at the Cold Stone Creamery, you mix and match them and name your creation. Tell all your friends and relatives and get them to taste it. Then ask them to vote for it online.
