A Spice that Heals

Feeling quesy? Ginger is the answer. The tasty, slightly spicy herb can be very soothing to a tummy unsettled by "not-so-good" foods. Whether you take it candied, dried in ginger snaps, tea or ginger beer, it can help soothe a trouble tummy.

Since the old times, it has been known to calm nausea and it has been proven that a substance in ginger shuts down a nerve receptor in the body that triggers the vomiting reflex.

I know a lot of people don't like the taste of ginger but you can add it to your food if you can't take the tea or candies. Here, try this: Add 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger and a few drops of toasted sesame oil to your usual salad. You'll love the nutty, Asian taste!

We give ginger to our dog about 1/2 hour before we have to take him in the car. I think it does help with carsickness.

I prefer ginger candied.

Oh, I remember several years ago, a Filipino friend brought me a ginger tea from Manila. I love the taste but cannot remember the brand. :(

I will definitely have to try this. I love ginger but rarely use it. Now I shall start. But, not in tea. Mine will have to be through cooking!!

Happy weekend:-)

Hello...ginger is an amazing root. It is also very effective in digesting your meals. There is a delicious candied ginger and if you just eat a bite of it after your meal...it is a fast and easy digestive.

There is so much about ginger that people do not know. Thank you for this informative post!
