Colony Forming Assay

Things had become easier with colony forming assay.  Nowadays, experts can easily check if a cancer patient is sensitive to some drugs.  I'm not sure how it's really done but according to my sister who works in a lab; the cells are grown in vitro in soft agar.  It is done to measure the toxicity level in drug development and to determine dosage strategies.

My sister's job as a lab technician is a little complicated but she enjoys it a lot.  I never thought she would end up as one because she is an advertising graduate.  She hated Science when we were young.  She didn't even have a lab tech certificate when she applied for the job.  Now, she is one of the best lab techs in their lab.  She has plans of going back to school to get certified.
