The Sneaky Skin Agers

When you think you look older than you should, here are some of the things you should avoid to make your skin look younger and radiant. Well, I'm sure you know that smoking a cigarette and going out without applying SPF can make your skin age fast. However, there are some sneaky skin agers that you may not be aware of like sugar.

If you love sugary treats, you better slow down or you may eventually find that your skin looks older than it should. Sugar breaks down into glucose, which eats away at collagen and elastin, making your skin less supple.

Avoid sitting near windows. Even if you religiously apply sunscreen before going out the door, you can still suffer damaging sun exposure if you sit near a window at the office, or in a car. It will help to have a small bottle of sunscreen in your purse or desk drawer handy so you can reapply every two hours.

Stress plays a major role in making you look older. When you’re stressed, your body pumps up the production of cortisol, a stress hormone that breaks down collagen and elastin.

Lack of sleep. Not getting enough beauty rest can make you look older. This is the time when your body repairs, heals, and regenerates itself, and if you don't give your body enough time to do those, you slow the process, making your skin age faster.

Yes, definitely the sun! And sugar, that sounded new to me. Now I need to be careful with my sweet tooth :) thanks for the tips!
