Book Review, Book Tour and Giveaway: Playing Without Rules by Rachelle Ayala
I was recently invited to join a book tour and albeit I didn't have an idea how a book tour is done, I was very excited. That's because I will be one of the first people to read and review Rachelle Ayala's Playing Without Rules book.
Book Description
Playing Without Rules. Marcia Powers hides her four-year-old daughter from ex-boyfriend, baseball player Brock Carter, because she fears he's like his abusive father. Meanwhile Brock's back in town to rekindle his romance with Marcia. Will he lose every dream, including baseball, when he discovers the real reason Marcia sent him away?
My Opinion
The story is about love, lies and abuse. Brock was abused by his father, but he found love through Marcia's family. Her parents helped and loved Brock like family. Marcia and Brock fell in love and had a daughter, whom Brock never knew about. Marcia had to keep it a secret because Brock never wanted kids. He was afraid he'd become abusive like his father. Plus, there is this dream of playing big time in baseball. Marcia pushed him out of her life, afraid that Brock would never want and love her child, Bianca.
Brock returns after five years, determined to be a part of Marcia's life again.
Playing Without Rules is a very exciting story with lovable characters. Once again, Rachelle Ayala had me turning page after page. If one of the twins was not sick, I would have finished the book in a couple of days.
The book was well written and there was never a boring chapter. It's a typical love story that happens every day, but the author made it more exciting with the turn of events and of course, the hot love scenes.
This is a good read. If you are looking for a modern romance book, this will definitely be worth your while.
