The Ten Commandments

The sun is the number one cause of skin damage and women go through a lot of trouble just to look good and to have good skin. Some of us would even buy expensive beauty products. Simply following the 10 commandments of caring for your skin can do the job. I found this in an article as I was reading my daughter's candymag last night and wanted to share it with you. Here they are...

1.) ALWAYS KEEP YOUR SKIN CLEAN. Sleeping without removing your make-up is a no-no. Make sure you've removed all your make-up and washed off all the dirt and grime on your face before heading to bed. No amount of make-up can beat healthy, glowing skin.

2.) SHUN THE SUN. Make sure you've put on sunscreen before going out or when you need to stay under the sun. The sun leads to a lot of harmful effects on your skin. Sun bathing will not only make you tan, you may also be vulnerable to premature aging, dry skin, uneven skin tone and worst... skin cancer.

3.) KNOW YOUR SKIN TYPE. People with oily skin should use oil-free products, those with dry skin should stick with products with more moisturizing ingredients. It will be best to use products especially formulated for your skin's needs.

4.) MOISTURIZE. To keep your skin healthy and glowing, apply moisturizer on your face and lotion on your body everyday to keep skin radiant.

5.) EXFOLIATE. This helps keep your skin tone even because you are removing dry skin cells. Scrubbing off dead skin cells regularly will leave your skin softer and blotch-free.

6.) KEEP ABREAST. Read up on new products being launched and constantly check out beauty counters. Be open to make-overs so you will know what looks suit you.

7.) EXERCISE. It is not only good for your body but it's good for your skin as well. The brain releases endorphins every time you exercise that make you glow and feel beautiful.

8.) EAT, DRINK AND BE MERRY. Load up on veggies and fruits, and drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water everyday. Vitamins C and E are particularly good for the skin.

9.) SLEEP. Go to bed before midnight and get at least 8 hours of sleep. Getting enough sleep is a must because as you rest, your body heals and repairs itself.

10.) RESPECT YOURSELF. Occassional break-outs are normal and not something to get depressed over. Your skin will eventually heal. Don't ever self-medicate or prick zits.

Early morning sun is the best natural vitamin D... but, our ozone layer is too thin and it may cause cancer too even though it is early morning...

For me, sleep is the best for my skin.

I think I'm on par with everything except sleep. I'm just one of those who can't sleep too long. My body just automatically wakes up after 5 hours of sleep.

Awesome tips. I definitely see a difference in my skin when I exercise and eat properly. Thanks for sharing.
