The Act of Standing

Did you know that the easiest way to rev metabolism is simply by just standing up? A study conducted by Marc T. Hamilton, Ph. D., shows that the act of standing was shown to reactivate the enzyme which instantly doubles metabolic rate. According to him, sitting for long periods shifts the fat burning enzyme "lipoprotein lipase" into standby mode. Ehem, ehem... fellow bloggers... I am sure you are as guilty as I am, lol. Stand up once every few hours, it helps keep fat burn all day. :)

I just read a different study this morning that studied people at work. It showed the ones that took more breaks were 2.x inches smaller then workers who sat for long periods.

It said that the breaks didn't even have to be long, just a simple stretch or standing up like what you are talking about!

This is one of the best posts yet! I am going to have to remind myself to stand up. I am always sitting at my computer - guess that explains the excess fat deposits all over my body! Well, that and the junk I eat.
