Does it fit to a tea?

I have mentioned a lot of times in my previous posts about the health benefits of tea. I am so sure you know by now that it lowers the risks of possible certain cancers, stroke and heart disease. But the big question is, does it deliver its most sought after benefit, to soothe and calm? Well, that's what they claim on their labels, right? The answer is YES and it has been proven by British researchers.

They divided 75 tea drinkers into two groups, one drank 4 cups of black tea a day, while the other group drank placebo tea. The latter is identical in taste, smell, and caffeine content, but lacking active tea ingredients. After six weeks, both groups underwent a stressful challenge. The result: Black tea drinkers had lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol than those who drank placebo tea. Cortisol is being linked to cravings for high fat and high sugar foods and can weaken the immune system. Try sipping a cp of tea when you area having a bad or stressful day, it does soothe and calm.

I usually drink about 5 cups of green tea a day but think I will give the black tea a try.

this is really true-
tea is better than coffee and it gives the same relaxing feeling.

Hey Liza,

I am not the least surprised about this: I drink tea since I was a little girl, and I can say that I am pretty calm lol.

Seriously, I love tea and if drinking it will help to lower levels of stress hormones, than I will keep drinking; cause God knows I am subject to a lot of stress (although no one would tell lol).

Thanks for your wishes, during the weekend, I did have a delightful weekend :D!
I hope you had one too, darling!

Wishing you a fantastic week!

Cheers

I'm a green tea drinker and not a big fan of coffee. It certainly helps in calming me down when I'm stressed and have stomach problems too.

Happy week ahead! Thanks for the vote sis, need more till Oct. 23 ;-)

oh dear me Liza,
I am the only failure so far to post. I am a Yank and we love our coffee over here.

Especially in the south west where I reside.

I have tried and tried to adapt to drinking a cup of hot tea and I simply can't acquire the taste for it.

I do drink a lot of ice tea though...both regular and green.

Maybe that helps too. I don't know but I hope so.:-)
