about term life insurance

A friend called me up earlier asking for some advice on life insurance. She is planning to purchase a life insurance for her and her family but she is quite confused with the terms used on the life insurance quotes given to her by several companies. Knowing that I worked part-time in an insurance company before, she asked me to explain it to her. There was really nothing much to explain, I just told her that if she chooses a term life insurance, her coverage can help her pay off a loan and at the same time provide extra life insurance protection while she is raising her kids. But I also had to remind her that a term life insurance works only for a limited period of time.
