More on Whole-grains

You probably know by now that whole-grains can ward off blood sugar spikes. Well, here's another interesting info, Scientists from Sweden have discovered that the effects of whole-grains balancing the blood sugar lasts for up to 10 hours. They found out that people who ate whole-grains like barley for breakfast enjoyed a 44 percent reduction in the severity of blood sugar swings at lunch and a 14 percent reduction at dinner. It's because of betaglucan, a form of soluble fiber that slows sugar absorption. Another great reason why you should go whole-grains. :)
