Review: Lactic Acid Peel by Dr Song
I used to cringe at the thought of skin peeling. I hated that when I was in my teens and I suffered from stubborn acne. Actually it's the side effects that I hated -- stinging, burning sensation, redness of the skin, itchiness, irritation and the fact that you cannot wash your face for days. It's a good thing that now there are facial peels available that you can use at home that's milder and more gentle on the skin.
Today's review is about Dr Song's 50% Lactic Acid Gel Peel. It contains Lactic acid, purfied water, sodium carboxylmethylcellulose, propylene glycol and it targets age spots, freckles, sun spots, skin lightening, hyperpigmentation, wrinkles and fine lines.
According to the description, this is a strong peel, so it's important that you follow the directions carefully, especially if you will be using this for the first time. You also must wait for a week before you do it again.
My Opinion
The first time that I tried it, I felt a burning sensation. It's tolerable, though and it didn't actually hurt. I felt the skin on my face tighten and it became pink and shiny. It was on the fourth day that my skin started peeling. After I've shed all the dry skin [5th day], my skin feels very smooth and it's definitely brighter. My dark spots are also less noticeable. This is such an awesome peel and I can't wait to try it again next soon.
Recommendation
If you're searching for a product to brighten dark spots, even your skin tone and fight the signs of aging, this lactic acid peel is a good product to try.

It's very important to follow the directions especially the keep away areas. The first time I used it, even though I read the directions, I somehow managed to get it on my nose and boy did that hurt. It actually left a chapped nose that eventually turned into a scab. Fortunately, I used grape seed oil to take care of that.
I do think it's very effective. I did the skin patch test on the top of my hand and you can tell the difference between my two hands. One feels like new skin and the other feels like soft skin.
There is definitely a warm, tingling sensation and for those with sensitive skin, they might stray away!
