Orange Scrub

Need some pampering?  This DIY scrub will refresh and smooth dry or dull skin.  To do:  Squeeze 1/2 of an orange into a bowl then add 4 tablespoons of cornmeal. Mix into a paste. Apply onto freshly washed face and body. Scrub gently for 2-3 minutes. Rinse, tone, moisturize.

Take The Plunge

Running around the office all day beating deadlines then hurrying home to prepare supper can leave you feeling emotionally, physically or mentally worn out.  The fix? Take the plunge!  Salt water helps get rid of toxins.  But if you don't live by the beach, you can mix a bath salt on your own.  To do:  In a tub full of water, mix together 1/3 C Epsom salt, 1/3 C Sea Salt, 1/3 C Baking Soda, 3 drops lavendar essential oil (optional, for added relaxation).  Get in and soak for 15-20 minutes.

I Hope It Works

Seven months after I have stopped smoking, I have gained a lot of weight.  I did cut back on my food intake and I workout regularly but these don't seem to help.  I understand that this is normal when you quit smoking but I think seven months is too long already.  I am getting frustrated and impatient.  I need to lose at least some of these pounds or else I'll have to buy a new set of wardrobe.  My friend says she found the best fat burner for me.  I'm going to try it and I pray that it works for me.

No More Frenzy Mornings

If you have been following this blog, then you must have read my post about my MIL, learning how to cook several months ago.  Well she can cook now and she has established a system in her kitchen.  She does the marketing on weekends and prepares some of the food ahead of time.  I helped her buy food storage for this.  It's easier for her when some foods were prepared ahead.  It cut backs breakfast preparation time and her mornings aren't so frenzied anymore.

The last time she went by herself to attend their high school reunion in Bulacan, it took her hours to get to the place.  She kept calling everyone asking for directions.  Hubs suggested that she should have gps tracking installed so she can easily find her way.  So when she told my brother about this, he immediately sent her the small device.  Navigation ought to be easy for her now that she has GPS and I'm sure she'll save more on phone bills.

Mom's Hair Treatment

My dad is 68, and would you believe if I tell you that his hair is still as thick as it was 30 or 40 years ago?  He doesn't have a secret, he was just blessed with thick hair which, I think I got from him.  Mom isn't as blessed as him when it comes to hair.  When my mom's hair started to thin, she started applying aloe vera gel on her scalp.  She had pots and pots of that plant.  Apparently, aloe helps hair to grow back.  She also did this to my daughter when she was young. True enough, mom's best hair loss treatment worked.  My daughter's hair grew thicker while she was growing up.

Moving Closer
