Getting Involved

Breast cancer is the leading cause of death in women around the world.  In my family, I have an aunt who is a cancer survivor.  She was lucky that it was detected pretty early and the cancerous cell was removed right away.

My husband's aunt was not so lucky.  When she got sick, none of us new that she had it.  Even the doctors who made several tests didn't detect the cancer until it was already too late; stage 4.  There is nothing much you can do when the cancer is already in that stage except pray and hope for a miracle.  After learning of the cancer, it only took a couple of weeks and she was gone.  She suffered a lot because the doctors were treating her for a different disease.  We knew she was in too much pain but we couldn't do anything.

It must be in my husband's family because last year, we learned that another cousin of his was suffering from the big C.  She survived it and is now an active member of The Breast Cancer Society.  The site works to raise awareness and help those who are suffering from breast cancer.  If you know someone who is suffering from the deadly disease, the website could be a great help to them.  You can also do your part by sending your breast cancer donation to help those who are in need.  Click on the link for more info.
