Get Fit Tips

Wanting to lose those extra lbs. but don't have the time to go to the gym and work-out? Here are some simple tips to help you shed those unwanted pounds.

  1. Find your fitness passion. For exercise, do anything you enjoy that will keep you active at least 30 minutes every day.
  2. Eat immediately after a workout, if you can. Your body won’t be able to recover fully if you don’t eat and drink water within an hour-and-a-half after you exercise. Stay away from too much sugar.
  3. Never skip meals. If you want to lose weight, do it with exercise. Nutrition and workout must always come together.
  4. Eat small but frequent meals. Follow a low-fat, high-protein diet.
  5. Be consistent. Your motivation should be strong enough to sustain you through laziness and pain. Keep telling yourself why you’re doing what you’re doing to keep you on track.
  6. It’s never too late to get fit. There’s no age requirement for exercise. You can start exercising even in your 40’s and beyond.

The Sanctuary for Healing

The Canyon is the sanctuary of healing for individuals with co-occurring conditions commonly known as addiction. Addiction is a physiological dependence on something. Drugs and alcohol are addictive. Addiction roots from simple experimentation and it never chooses its victims. When an individual becomes an addict, he starts to gamble, gamble with his life, his personality, and his future. It is destructive and it does not only hurt the person but those who care about them as well.

Individuals who are addicted often don't see that they have a problem. On the other hand, they think everyone else is the problem. It takes experience to treat addiction and The Canyon offers Drug Rehab and Alcohol Rehab programs that include treatment options, services and learning tools that will help their client build a long lasting recovery. This drug treatment center offers a unique kind of treatment for their clients, focusing more on the dietary needs of the individual because they believe that the healing properties of fresh foods allow the body to reach a balance that will help reduce cravings, create strength, calm the emotions and bring clarity of mind.

The Canyon offers a peaceful retreat for your loved ones, giving them a 'homey' atmosphere which is good for a fast recovery. He may be an addict and have lived like hell but that doesn't mean that he should be treated without respect and dignity.

Valentine Gift

I got a Valentine gift from SweetRai. Thank you so much sis, I'd like to share this with all of you. Happy Valentine's Day!

Great Finds and Beautiful Relics

I have always been fascinated with African arts, antiques and relics. While I was blog hopping the other night I happen to come upon an African web site which sells unique and quality African products. I was amazed with the items they feature on their web site. They have a great collection of African Arts & Gifts. The sculptures, African masks, djembes, leather bags, traditional African clothing, handcrafted jewelry and home decorations were all created by the finest craftsmen in Ghana, West Africa. The designs are unique and authentic because they were crafted in the traditions of the tribes and the people's customs where the art originated.

If ever you are looking for traditional African clothing for costumes or you simply love wearing them, you will love the designs and exquisite colors of their collection. At Afrikboutik, you can be sure that you are buying the best quality at affordable prices. The jewelry collection is also a must-see. Jewelry in Africa has been used as a vehicle for religious symbols and is used to indicate one's social status. Even if their jewelries were crafted with modern materials, the craftsmen were able to present these jewelries in their different traditional themes. All these are handmade and you can even design your own unique set to complement your wardrobe. These jewelries are priced really low, you can purchase these ensembles for less than $20. Isn't that amazing?

Liven up your home of office with handcrafted African sculpture, paintings or African masks. I loved the way their artists presented African culture and traditions in each masterpiece. Afrikboutik always update their web site with new items to ensure you with the finest and latest products available. If you are looking for special gifts for your friends and loved ones, this is the right place for you. The web site guarantees safe purchase transactions and an unconditional money-back guarantee policy should you find their products unsatisfactory. All items can be shipped to US, Canada, Brazil, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific Islands and the Caribbean.

Click on the link and see what I'm talking about. Browse through their beautiful and authentic collection and participate in their sweepstakes and win beautiful prizes. Gift certificates and African Jewelry are given as weekly prizes. No purchase is necessary to enter or to win this sweepstakes.

Tuesday Toot

This is my first time to join Tuesday Toot. This week, not much have been done. For 3 days I was under the weather, but I'm ok now ;) and I am proud to let you know that my new blog Mommy's Little Corner is now running. I recently purchased a domain from Google and had difficulties with the transition since I am not a tech savvy. The funny part is when I was done, I realized you don't really have to be one to do it, hehe.

Get Your Free Quotes

Does your present car insurance give you the best features and benefits you should be getting for your beloved car? If not, it's about time you consider other options. Let's face it, buying a car is like investing your money on real estate. The only difference is, with cars, the value of your money depreciates. Therefore, you should be getting the best coverage out of your buck.

With over a thousand registered insurance companies, choosing the best one for you could be very confusing. I have made a great discovery on the best car insurance rates while I was surfing the internet. Details on how to save money for your next auto insurance policy, the easiest way to get insured, claims, deductibles and even discounts are explained to you. Everything you need to know about auto insurance are there. They also offer an expert guide to lowering your car insurance rates. Their car insurance experts will contact you within 24 hours should you have any additional questions.

Choose the insurance policy that fits your lifestyle best and get the quotes in five minutes. Now, isn't that fast? Compare the quotes from other top insurers and find out that they have the best and lowest policies. And before I forget, this is a bonus, I am sure most of us have more than one car. The web site offers multiple car discounts, which means that the more car we insure, the more discounts we get. Fantastic isn't it?

Addiction, is it a disease?

In a world where drugs can be easily bought without prescription and alcohol can be bought at groceries, it is not a wonder to see that a huge number of people are addicted to drugs and alcoholic beverages. Addiction is described as attachment, dedication, inclination and devotion. It is a recurring compulsion by an individual to engage in some specific activity, despite of its harmful effects in one's health, mental state and social life. We are aware of the dangers associated with addiction, yet, the number of addicts is steadily growing. For the younger generations, it usually starts out as casual experimentation, influence of friends or sometimes, due to family problems. For the older ones, addiction may be caused by financial or family problems. They rely on drugs or alcohol because it changes the way they feel; they feel better, relaxed, powerful and lets them escape reality.

How do you help a person who has an addiction? Addiction is not a disease and it is treatable. The first thing that we could think of when we know of one is to immediately have him or her admitted to a drug rehab or alcohol rehab centers. There are thousands of alcohol and drug rehabilitation organizations and knowing which one to send your loved ones could be confusing. 1800NODRUGS.com will find the correct solution for your specific addiction problems. Their alcohol and drug treatment programs are very specific to the individuals involved. Their ultimate goal is to enable your loved ones to achieve long lasting abstinence and help them change their behaviors to adopt a more healthful lifestyle. The treatments help patients engage in the process, modify their behaviors and attitudes. The web site is a free, non-profit portal and offers services designed to help and find the best solution for your problems. Their drug rehab and alcohol rehab are staffed with expert counselors. Being an addict doesn't mean they have to be treated without respect and dignity. Have your loved ones treated with utmost care, call now and talk to the most experienced drug and alcohol counselors.

When You Have Stretch Marks

Do you have these? These are called stretch marks. Stretch marks are the result of the rapid stretching of the skin associated with rapid growth or weight gain and pregnancy. Our skin is fairly elastic but rapid stretching of the skin will leave permanent stretch marks. Losing and gaining weight fast and pregnancy are the main reasons why we have stretch marks. Taking 1000 mg of Vitamin C and 400IUs of Vitamin E everyday are necessary to keep our skin healthy. Both vitamins can help repair and prevent stretch marks. Massaging the skin with stretch mark cream or lotion containing squalene oil, vitamin E, vitamin A, vitamin D3, aloe vera and grapefruit seed extracts will help maintain moisture in our skin. Revitol Stretch Mark Cream is the answer to all your stretch mark problems. It is a new cream formulated to be used as preventive treatment for stretch marks during or after pregnancy. What's good about Revitol is that it increases the elasticity of your skin, it helps increase the production of collagen, it effectively prevents the development of stretch marks, it decreases the appearance of existing stretch marks, it protects and regenerates skin, it keeps skin healthy and firm and it requires no prescription. Start using Revitol for your stretch marks and see the difference, you also get 2 free bottles if you purchase the 6 bottle package and it comes with a money back guarantee.

How to avoid Strokes (Part 2)

1. Eat bananas, potatoes and avocados. These fruits are rich in potassium which can help lower blood pressure and avoid blood clots in our brain.

2. Include yogurt in your diet. Yogurt helps increase linoleic acid which is an essential fatty acid to lower the risk of strokes.

3. Consuming at least five servings of spinach every week can help lower the risk of stroke up to 43%.

4. Eat carrots at least five times a week. Carrots are healthy snacks you and your kids can enjoy. It can also lower the risk of stroke by 68%.

5. Find time to floss. Gum disease can boost the risk of stroke and it's best to take time to floss your teeth if you can't immediately brush them after eating.

6. Stop smoking. Smoking increases the risk of stroke especially to women who are taking birth control pills.

The Symptoms:

You know you are having a stroke when you feel numbness on your face, arms or thighs; blurred vision; weakness; and you're feeling uneasy. Stroke occurs when the blood vessel which supplies blood to our brain is clogged. I've read in one article that 80% of stroke cases can and may be avoided by simply following the tips.
